Fertility & Third-Party Consultations
I provide psychological consultation and evaluation services for individuals and families involved in third-party reproduction. These services are designed to meet the requirements of IVF clinics, agencies, and donor banks, while also supporting informed and thoughtful participation in the process.
All consultations and assessments are conducted in accordance with current professional guidelines and reflect an understanding of the medical, legal, and relational complexities of third-party reproduction.
Intended Parent Consultation
Many IVF clinics, agencies, and donor banks require intended parents to participate in a psychological consultation prior to proceeding with egg donation, sperm donation, or gestational surrogacy.
This consultation is educational and preparatory in nature. It is not an evaluation of your fitness as a parent. The focus is on helping intended parents understand and anticipate the psychological and relational aspects of third-party reproduction.
Topics commonly addressed include:
- Expectations related to egg donation, sperm donation, or surrogacy
- Disclosure decisions with family, friends, and future children
- Coping with uncertainty, delays, or unsuccessful cycles
- Emotional considerations related to embryos and genetic connection
- Boundaries and expectations in relationships with donors or gestational carriers
Consultations are conducted in alignment with American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) guidelines. A written report is provided and can be sent directly to your IVF clinic, agency, or donor bank, typically by the next business day.
Gestational Carrier Assessments & Support
I conduct psychological evaluations for individuals serving as gestational carriers, in accordance with agency and clinic requirements. These assessments are designed to evaluate readiness, provide education, and support informed participation in the surrogacy process.
In addition to formal assessments, consultation-based support is available for gestational carriers who wish to process emotional, relational, or role-related aspects of their experience before, during, or after a cycle.
Egg Donor Assessments & Support
I also provide psychological evaluations for egg donors, supporting both agency requirements and the donor’s understanding of the medical, emotional, and ethical aspects of donation.
Support consultations are available for egg donors who wish to reflect on their experience, navigate boundaries, or process emotional responses that may arise during or after donation.
Written reports and coordination with agencies are available as part of the assessment process.
